Kristen & Drew - A Siena Engagement

Kristen and Drew met at freshman orientation at Siena and will come full circle next month when they marry at the Siena Chapel of Angels. We look forward to it, because these two are so full of fun and energy - it's gonna be a great day!

Congrats Rebecca & Nick!

Rebecca and Nick married at Franklin Plaza on a fabulous July day. Their ceremony included an intimate hand-tying ceremony, of which I love the symbolism. They partied it up with Adam Conway of Piano Man DJs, and to start it off right, they came in with drinks in hand and toasted their guests. Great food, great fun, great party!

Natalie Ele - Newborn Session

Kiley + Matthew and baby makes three! It's so exciting to hear when one of our former brides & grooms branches out and starts their family. We had the honor of meeting little Natalie Ele, born July 9, 2009 for her newborn session. She kept her parents waiting, but well worth it 'cause she's a doll. And she even opened her eyes for us! Soooo cute! And sorry, Matt, I couldn't resist including the crying one with the Yankees' shirt. All in good fun. I'm sure they were tears of joy!

Congrats Erica & Stephen!

If I had to pick one difficult thing about photographing this wedding, it would be choosing favorites! Holy cow - what a fun bridal party!!! Erica was an absolute doll, and Stephen, just too slick! Both were genuinely thrilled to be celebrating their union, as was everyone else. The party was craaazzzyyy - hosted by one of our fav DJs, Greg Frasier! He warned me that it would be one of the best parties, and he was right!

Congrats Lisa & Kosta!

After a string of rainy days, Lisa & Kosta got the gift of beautiful weather for their wedding day. Lisa was a little nervous at the house, but for no reason - because she looked absolutely fabulous! They married at St. Sophia's Greek Church and partied at the stunning Hall of Springs, hosted by Music Man, Mike Garrassi. Love the vibrant summer colors! Opa!

Beautiful day, fun bridal party, great party - Kelly & Wes tied the knot at the chapel at St. Rose and partied at Woolfert's Roost, with musical host Dave Cannon of Elite Sounds Entertainment. I love the surprise cake topper! (Kelly was an Albany Tulip Queen - so how perfect!) All around a great day!

A-wow. Heather and Ian had a perfect Thursday evening for their intimate wedding at the Glen Sanders Mansion. Their guest list may have been short, but the group was long on fun! What a pleasure it was to work with Heather and Ian and their families. Stunning, fun and laid back - just how we like 'em! And it was fun seeing Amy Elizabeth, who did a fabulous job with Heather's make-up - not that it was much of a challenge. Pretty girl!

Congrats Dawn & Kevin!

Dawn reminded me that it had been 24 months since she booked us, but wow - did the time fly! This past weekend hosted the big day for Kevin & Dawn at River Stone Manor and what a gorgeous day it was, though it kept us guessing! Kevin & Dawn decided to see one another prior to the ceremony to take advantage of the beautiful grounds for some photo ops, but it started to drizzle a bit. However, miraculously, as Dawn walked down the aisle, the sun blazed through and it was magical! The magic lasted long enough to get some gorgeous shots of Kevin and Dawn after the ceremony, as well. For the party, Mike Garassi from Music Man kept the tunes spinning. Rock on!

Sara & Rocky are big track fans and they ran with the theme, naming their tables after thoroughbreds and celebrating at the beautiful Canfield Casino in - where else - Saratoga. Sara represented elegance personified - she looked AMAZING! Her bridemaids glowed, and Rocky and his groomsmen exuded coolness. It was a great big bridal party full of great big fun. The weather rocked, the party even more so. Vinny from Cool Cat Entertainment kept the crowd on their feet. And I love the shot of Sara from their toast - too cute!

Congrats Adrienne & Brian

Weddings are in full swing. Next up, Adrienne & Brian tied the knot this past Saturday and partied like rock stars with Mike Garassi from Music Man Entertainment as musical host. The rain kept us under a patio during the bridal party portraits, but it didn't keep Brian & Adrienne from looking absolutely fabulous! And we managed to capture one of my all time favorite father-daughter photos to date! Wow. Sweetness...

Rene & Don - A Recap

Rene & Don had a beautiful day last September to head to Congress Park for their pre-ceremony formals with their spunky bridal party, then off to River Stone Manor for their late evening wedding. We stressed a little bit when the officiant forgot to tell the guests to be seated, limiting our coverage, but that's what keeps our job interesting - you never know what challenge you will face next. Don & Rene looked fantastic, especially during their super-entertaining first dance! Soul Session rocked the party and fun was had by all.

And we're off! Our 'official' wedding season has begun, and we started it off with Laura and James at the Desmond. If you recall, the skies opened up on Saturday, but not not before we captured a few nice shots with James & Laura and their bridal party at the Pruyn House gardens in Latham - very quickly. The ceremony was balanced with laughter and tears - but happy tears, of course. And the reception rocked with energy, hosted by Greg Frasier. James even serenaded Laura.

Kate + Ben = Ken - A Recap

One word that sums up these two is FUN! Affectionately known (mainly to themselves) as 'Ken' - how funny - Kate and Ben truly celebrated their wedding from beginning to end. From their heartfelt ceremony at St. Clement's Church to their kickin' reception at the Saratoga National Golf Club with one crazy bridal party. And this is one of the best 'end with the beginning' recaps we've managed to do in a while, with the shot of Kate & Ben's toasting glasses etched with their alma mater, St. Lawerence University: where it all began.

Chad & Amanda - Happy Ever Recap

When Amanda smiles, she does so with every little bit of herself, and it's contagious! Chad and Amanda were such a sweet couple to work with. And to watch them with their beautiful daughter and with each other was a treat. The ceremony was, well, let's say cozy! They managed to fit quite a large crowd into the St. Rose Chapel, which is a testament to how well loved they are. Photos at the State Capital were a blast! With a fun bridal party, adorable couple and some awesome light, you can't go wrong! All around, a great day!

Congrats Dawn & Jason!

We have been anxiously awaiting wedding season, and although our season hasn't quite kicked in just yet (come May), we were excited to get out and shoot some March weddings! First, Dawn & Jason married this past weekend at the newly remodeled Glen Sanders Mansion. I love the new color scheme in the lobby and the ballroom - bright and airy, yet sophisticated and elegant. When we saw it, we were pumped! And then when I saw Dawn's flowers, I nearly flipped - anyone who knows me knows I LOVE irises! Her dresses were perfect for a spring wedding! Yay, spring! But Dawn & Jason's vows stole the show - personalized and sweet. The first dance was pretty awesome, too.

Ahhh, beautiful summer days - remember them? Here's a great one! Mary Beth and Dino's beautiful August wedding at River Stone Manor. It was a gorgeous day, with a stunning bridal party! Mary Beth and Dino personalized their ceremony, combining Greek tradition with some simple romance - very classy. Their reception celebrated their nuptials with zest and energy! What a great celebration.

Stephanie & Jimmy - Engagement!

Ahhh, finally, a day you could walk outside without being bundled in layers of fleece and down and wool from head to toe... And we were able to enjoy it with Stephanie and Jimmy in Saratoga for their engagement shoot! They looked fantastic, and together, they are such naturals, so relaxed and comfortable in each other's company. We cannot wait to shoot their Lake George wedding in November!

When Kiley and Matt do it - they do it big! What a party! The morning started off with one of the biggest thunderstorms! But thankfully, it cleared up just in time for Kiley and Matt to marry at St. Thomas Church in Delmar. Then we popped over to the Capital Building for some photos-ops, followed by a kickin' party at the Century House with none other than the Refrigerators!

Blog readers met Sara and John a few weeks ago with their oh-so-fun engagement post. Well, this past weekend hosted the big day, and what a beautiful day it was. The snow stayed away, and though there was a chill in the area, the warmth of this wedding kept the cold at bay, from the golden accent lights of the Hall of Springs, to the rich floral tones, to the couple themselves. Brynn turns one!

A first year program complete! We had the pleasure of documenting Brynn at 3 months, 6 months, 9 months and now her first birthday. Holy crow - is she a cutie! And she seemed to know it, too. She couldn't get enough of herself in the mirror - the little diva. But when you got it, flaunt it. Check her out - she's a doll!

Courtney & John - Recap, baby!

Okay, so here it is - I'm so excited to post Courtney & John's recap. A few computer issues slowed down the process, but now that it's finished, I'm psyched! (PS. We have a new computer on the way - not soon enough!) I forgot how hot the day was, but you would never know it by watching these two - they looked flawless. And their bridal party rocked! Courtney and John were two of the sweetest people we have had the pleasure of working with, and so much fun! The first dance was CRAZY! Choreographed first dances can be difficult to shoot since we cannot be too creative with them or we might miss something. But when they are this entertaining, not much has to be done - point and shoot and let the couple do their thing. Great job, guys! So, enjoy the recap (and keep some tissues close by!)

Sara & John - Engagement

Here's something a little different... Because it was so frigid outside, we traipsed about the NYS museum for a few unique shots. John was a trooper - he indulged us on the carousel, even though it wasn't quite his thing. Sara looked adorable, laughing at all of John's jokes. I'm so excited to shoot their wedding next month - they are so good together. Hopefully it will be a tad warmer by then. Though we did make it outside for a few quick (very quick) shots on the Plaza.

Congrats Kate & Walter!

Wedding number two for the weekend brings us to Kate and Walter's wedding celebration at Longfellow's Inn and Restaurant. Lucky for them, everything took place right there, so they never even had to touch the cold - at least, not the girls. Kate and Walter married at the foot of the bridge in a short but sweet ceremony, then partied on the dance floor with Dave Cannon from Elite Sounds Entertainment spinning the tunes. Kate and Walter were especially psyched about their one-of-a-kind cake topper made of hand blown glass, crafted especially for them in honor of their union. Rather unique.

Congrats April & Dave!

We kicked off a busy weekend with 2 weddings and the Glen Sanders Bridal Show (thanks to all who came out!). April & Dave came first with their Glen Sanders wedding celebration. April looked so elegant - and I LOVE the pink shoes - nice touch! Dave looked pretty snappy himself. And I cracked up that while the girls hussle and bustled, the guys relaxed in their room with their video games. Isn't that always the way?

We had the pleasure of working with coordinator Christine Wheat, who kept the ball rolling, and I finally got to meet make-up artist Amy Elizabeth, whom I've heard so much about - she definitely highlighted April's best features, including her big, beautiful eyes. And it's always great to see Fernando from Piano Man - he's one of our favorites! He kept the party hot, despite the cold temps! Holy crow, sub-zero!

A Touch of Summer in January - Angela & Dan

A quaint wedding ceremony; a calm winter evening in December; a beautiful setting at Glen Sanders Mansion - Elizabeth and Allen exchanged nuptials among their closest family and enjoyed a relaxed dinner in the Stockade Room at the Mansion. What a perfect wedding for a sweet, unassuming couple. And thankfully we could pop outside for a few nice images among the snow.
